Director of Operations

Pathway Search is working with a well-funded and rapidly-expanding start up in Nashville as they look to bring on a Director of Operations. This role will play an integral part in the strategic growth efforts of the organization and will take complete ownership of 2 main business sectors of the organization.  Our client is looking for someone who is high-energy and not afraid to get in the weeds to drive operational process improvement and create efficiencies/strategies to align with the aggressive growth plans for the company. 

Responsibilities:
  • Leading and managing the operations team: The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and managing a team of operations professionals, including supervisors, managers, and other staff members. This includes setting goals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback, and ensuring the team is adequately trained.
  • Overseeing the implementation of policies and procedures: The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring that the company's policies and procedures are properly implemented and adhered to. This includes identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for changes as needed.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance: The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring that the organization is compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. This includes staying up to date with changes in regulations and ensuring that the company's operations are in line with these changes.
  • Managing risk: The Director of Operations is responsible for identifying and managing risks related to operations. This includes implementing risk management strategies, monitoring and assessing risk levels, and making recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Managing budgets: The Director of Operations is responsible for managing the budget for the operations department. This includes forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, and making recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Developing and implementing processes and technology: The Director of Operations is responsible for developing and implementing processes and technology to improve operations. This includes identifying areas for improvement, researching, and evaluating potential solutions, automation, and developing and implementing action plans.
  • Collaborating with other departments: The Director of Operations collaborates with other departments within the organization, including finance, compliance, and risk management
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, and networking with human resources and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Promote the company's products and services whenever possible; participates in company sponsored events, networking, and volunteer opportunities at every opportunity.
  • Follow all regulatory rules and regulations, immediately report any suspicious behavior and/or situations that may result in criminal or emergency incidents and complete all required training in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of related regulations of banking operations, products and services, and documents required for all types of loans
  • Ability to communicate effectively through speaking, writing and listening and effectively communicate with subordinates, peers and executive management
  • Prior quality analysis/quality controls skills with the ability to write test scripts
  • Ability to create effective controls to mitigate operational and regulatory risk
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
  • Demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines
  • Ability to think strategically and perform detailed tasks
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive documents
  • Outstanding organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independent of direct supervision
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Minimum ten years of experience in banking operations preferred with 5 years in an operations leadership role
