A healthcare company based in Brentwood, TN is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to add to their team due to growth. This position will be part of a close-knit team of 5 and will report directly to the Accounting Manager.  Our client is looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience in GL accounting, with fixed asset experience being highly desired. 

Responsibilities:

• Assists with general ledger maintenance by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and verifying system transactions. 
• Performs general ledger account variance analysis, investigating and resolving issues to ensure an accurate month-end close.  Documents significant budget to actual variances for assigned accounts. 
• Assists with work paper and control documentation.  Supports efficient and effective audit processes.
• Setting up assets and recording depreciation on a monthly basis.
• Researches technical issues and recommends policy to ensure integrity of financial reporting.
• Supports an environment of continuous improvement by evaluating and enhancing current accounting practices and process flows.
• Supports other financial statement analysis and special projects as assigned.
